More Animal Collective, Passion Pit Studio Video, New Music and more

Animal Collective has a semi-studio release of "What Would I Want Sky?" (previously referred to as "Blue Sky") from a BBC session. It was recorded 3 days ago on Jan. 25th.
Also, there's a version of Lion in a Coma from MPP from the same session.

Passion Pit is about %30 done mixing their debut LP, according to this video:

If you haven't heard the The Golden Filter yet, here's a taste:
The Golden Filter - Solid Gold
Peter Bjorn and John - Lay It Down(Golden Filter Remix)

The video for solid gold is amazing, too:

If you're in the mood for a little bit of indie power-pop, here's your fix.

Harlem Shakes - Sunlight

They've got their full-length debut on the way, due out in march.

I just found this guy (Theophilus London) via Neon Gold Records and it's pretty good. Here's a track off "This Charming Mixtape" that was released the 25th:

Amadou & Mariam - Sabali (Theophilius London Remix)

This will probably go somewhere this year. Oh, and the mixtape is a free download (click on his name up there for his myspace).

Pittsburgh noise/psychedelia band Black Moth Super Rainbow has released a clip reel of songs from their upcoming LP release, Eating Us.

Black Moth Super Rainbow - Eating Us Mashup

I just found these guys, so I don't know really what to expect, but I'm diggin the clip reel for sure.

And lastly, Muxtape is back online. After the RIAA had it shut down last year (much to it's own detriment, if you ask me) Muxtape is back as a minimalist version of myspace for bands. Basically, artists upload songs and allow users to create mixtapes. Right now there are 12 artists available (of Montreal, Cexman, Adron, Girl Talk, Dan Deacon, Apes and Androids, Old Gold, Reggie Watts, Amanda Palmer, Tony Bambino, and Vulture Reality) and "in the coming weeks [muxtape] will begin allowing bands to sign up themselves for free."
Pitchfork cited some info about giving bands an opportunity for download and merch sales. It should be pretty cool, if you ask me. I'll keep my feelers pointed at it.

Oh, almost forgot. It's -3 and clear as a bell here with clouds expecting to pick up later in the day, ultimately reaching a high of 18 degrees.
